Disabled children is a rare sight
In Denmark it is normal to see disabled children but in Kenya it is a rare sight. For that reason we were invited to visit a group in Kawangware which has a project that supports parents of disabled children. The main focus is to brake down the prejudices and get the children out of hiding.
When we came to the center there were ten children with their parents waiting for us in a small room and when we came in the room it came to life with laughter from the many children with different needs.
We were listening to the children's stories they were quite touching. Some was outcast by the family other was refused schooling.
At the end of the day we handed out lollipops and toys which were received happily.
